Description of Liquid Flow Calibration Services

The mobile calibration ring designs are two groups design involving one control group and one computer data processing by using a Basic language program. Control group comprises four constant velocity pumps, four Coriolis mass flows and water tank containing about 800 L of water. The manifold splits, as shown in Fig. 1, the flow into five separate individually Coriolis mass flow (master flow)  pipelines of ½ inch, 1 inch, 2 inch and 3 inch in diameter ; only one Coriolis mass flow is executed at any given time. Pumps are used to move at a required flow rate of water from the water tank into the flow loop a customized manifold. Once the flow of water in each pipeline pass through both master flow meter and the flowmeter under calibration installed in a pipeline downstream of master flow meter.

​   Computer data processing comprises, as shown in Fig. 2, a computer and digital multi meter with IEEE 488 interface that connected with the outputs of both flow meter. Both outputs are recorded together to be contained in a file or data set.  The average of the forty independent current signal measurements from meter under test as well as of the integral pulse are performed to compare with the master flow meter in order to calculate instrument error.  The master flow meters have been calibrated to high accuracy via gravimetric method (using weigh scale) in SMG Laboratory according to nation traceable standard.
